There’s no true timetable on Rondo’s return, but Jared Sullinger has one.
The Celtics forward spoke with Jay King about Rondo’s potential return.
Boston Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge has stated publicly — several times — that point guard Rajon Rondo wants to return from ACL surgery by training camp and play on opening night.
Yet while speaking with WSYX Columbus on Friday, teammate Jared Sullinger shared a different timetable for Boston’s four-time All-Star.
“He’s back working out again and hopefully he’ll be back by December,” said Sullinger.
Sullinger is returning from a season ending injury himself. He underwent back surgery, but he’s expected to be ready for the beginning of training camp.
BEST OF MAXIM
Jared Sullinger sat down for an interview this week with WSYX in Ohio. He obviously sounds excited to be returning to the court, but also mentioned that he hoped Rondo would be back by December (2:28). We've heard conflicting reports on when Rondo will return. We've even heard that he might be back by the start of camp. I think it's much more likely here that Rondo misses...
The Boston Celtics are most likely going to have a rough go of it in 2013-14.
Some pundits have them pegged as a lottery team in the 2014 NBA Draft.
Players View won’t go that far but it can be stated that if Jared Sullinger is correct, the Celtics are due to get off to a rocky start.

From the Boston Globe's Gary Washburn in his "Sunday Basketball Notes" column:
"Also on the market is former Celtic Chris Wilcox, who said he would like to return to Boston, but that’s highly unlikely with the new regime. Wilcox said that recovering from aorta surgery affected him last season and he promised to be in better shape this season."
Old/new/old friend Kris Joseph is moving as far away from Danny Ainge as humanly possible.
Joseph, who was cut by the Celtics in July after being acquired as a salary equalizer in the mega-deal between the Celtics and Nets, is heading to China. Here's the blurb from ESPN's rumor page.
Free agent forward Kris Joseph has made a decision where he's going to play this...

Show your love for the man that was the face of the Boston Celtics franchise since 1998. Who is also only one of three Celtics along side Larry Bird and John Havlicek, who have scored over 20,000 points in their Celtics careers alone. He also holds the Celtics record for most three-point field goals mad. Honor the man that grinded it out over the years and brought us the Championship...
Jared Sullinger gave his hope for when Rajon Rondo could return to the Boston Celtics' lineup after undergoing surgery on a torn ACL.
"He's back working out again and hopefully he'll be back by December," Sullinger said.
Danny Ainge has maintained he believes that Rondo could return as soon as opening night.
Sullinger also has spent time rehabilitating his back.
suggest that the most valuable Celtic this year will not be a player. This is a building year. The most valuable Celtics’ builders will not
be players but the coach and GM. Danny must
finagle the pieces and Stevens must develop, groom, and build a cohesive
chemistry. This organizational process
will be far more important for the course of this franchise than this year’s...
Happy Birthday to Tommy Heinsohn who turns 79 today!! If you are a Celtics fan, you love Tommy for his absolute love of the Celtics that he hides from no one. When I do the Comments from the Other Side columns, almost every one includes fans from the other team commenting about how much they hate listening to Tommy because he broadcasts in the only way he knows: through green colored...
The Celtics may not be very good this season..but they are kings of the NBA in at least one extremely important category: Uniforms.
Ok so maybe it's not that important. But still, they're #1 in something, and that's not something we'll be able to say on the court over the next few seasons.
According to ESPN's "UniWatch", the Celts have the #1...
ESPN Boston's Chris Forsberg was kind enough to invite Celtics Life to contribute to it's Summer Forecast series. Last week we posted the first four days of Forsberg's and Celtics Life's columnists' predictions to some pressing questions. Here's Part 2:
5) What are your expectations for Kelly Olynyk?
The guess here is that Olynyk carves...
The Celtics just uploaded this nice short video paying tribute to one of the greatest Celtics on his 79th birthday. Tommy got an early birthday present last week when Brad Stevens added Tommy favorite Walter McCarty to his staff.

On the heels of the news that Chris Wilcox wants to return to the Celtics but the Celtics don't want him, let's take a look back at really the best part of his Celtics career.
The Rajon Rondo to Chris Wilcox connection was also one of the most surprising but entertaining parts of year's past. Wilcox couldn't find his way into the rotation at times, but man could...
On Sunday, Brooklyn Nets head coach Jason Kidd told the media that one of his goals for point guard Deron Williams this year is for Williams to average 10 assists per game, a number that immediately made me think of Rajon Rondo and his amazing streak of 37 games with 10 or more assists last season.
From New York Daily News:
“I’m going to push him. I want the best for him...
