Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. The past two games are perfect examples. Pierce was a combined 12-for-31 shooting, including a loss at Houston, and Garnett was not active offensively because of fatigue. He attempted just 25 shots in the two games, scoring 14 and 13 points. This was a perfect opportunity for Jeff Green and Courtney Lee to respond with good offensive games, but neither did. Lee started both and scored 19 total points in 57 minutes. Green scored 19 total points in 56 minutes. Team president of basketball operations Danny Ainge signed the duo to four-year contracts for the purpose of them eventually taking over for Pierce and Garnett, and providing relief when the duo is unable to carry the scoring load. The Celtics got considerably younger in the offseason, but they have yet to determine whether it’s better. Lee and Green are simp...

Why Isn't Leandro Barbosa Playing?

Danny Ainge pulled off a great signing this off-season by acquiring Leandro Barbosa in the eleventh hour for the veteran's minimum (and stealing him from the clutches of the Lakers!). "The Brazilian Blur" showed early promise with his instant offense and speed, but of late, LB has barely seen the floor, only playing 19 minutes in the last 6 games. He still has game...

Doc says Bradley ‘on paper’ should become starter when healthy

While the Celtics work through their rotation issues, another piece was added to the mix today with Avery Bradley returning to practice.  While it is still estimated that his return will be in early January, it does open up the discussion of minute distribution, specifically at shooting guard. The Celtics primary problem this year has been rebounding, much of which has stemmed from...

Avery Bradley practicing with the Celtics today

Avery Bradley will practice today #celtics — gary washburn (@GwashNBAGlobe) December 17, 2012 GAME CHANGER! The Celtics have talked about possibly sending Avery Bradley up to Maine for a rehab game or two, but I wouldn't be surprised if they scrap that plan and he ends up playing with the big boys sooner rather than later. The team desperately needs his defense and energy out...

Free Courtney Lee

Sing it with me now people: “All we are saaayiiiiiing, is give Lee a chaaaance.” Boston Celtics shooting guard Courtney Lee is a 27-year-old sharpshooter who can also finish at the rim, yet somehow, he’s lost minutes to Jason Terry and Leandro Barbosa. Like teammate Jeff Green, Lee is a natural-born starter who’s played on the bench for the past few seasons and are worse...

Avery Bradley Returns To Practice

Celtics guard Avery Bradley, sidelined since mid May due to shoulder issues that required a pair of offseason surgeries, is scheduled to engage in contact activities for the first time during the team’s offday workout on Monday in Chicago. Bradley has been rehabbing with a mid-December return to practice in mind. He has hesitated to put a timeline on a return to game action, stressing...

Rondo Vs. James: All Hail King Rondo

For those of you who are new to TSHQ, first of all welcome. Grab a seat. Would you like a drink? I believe K.M. Venne and Cole Zwicker were just discussing the intricacies of JaVale McGee’s self-indulgent retweets of himself over a fine burbon whiskey. Toward the early days of this sites inception onto the world wide web I penned a short article about why Rajon Rondo was more important...

Spurs pull away in the 4th, defeat Celtics 103-88

Spurs backcourt Tony Parker and Gary Neal combined for 42 points to lead the Spurs over the Celtics 103-88. Paul Pierce and Jason Terry led the Celtics with 19 apiece in the losing effort. Here are some more quick observations: Jason Terry couldn't miss in the 1st half (17 points). Jason Terry couldn't make in the 2nd half (1 point). Manu Ginobili was limited to just over...

Falcons WR Roddy White calls Jeff Green soft and terrible

Falcons All-Pro wide receiver Roddy White had some criticism for Jeff Green on Friday night. While it’s nothing compared to what some Celtics fans have said about Green, it’s a bit unusual for a professional athlete to call out a fellow athlete in a different sport.  And I don’t know much about White other than the fact he’s a damn good wide receiver whose team hasn’t...

Roddy White Calls Jeff Green “Soft and Terrible” On Twitter

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White must have been watching the Celtics-Rockets game on Friday night and clearly didn’t like what he saw from Celts forward Jeff Green during the action. White tweeted on Friday night that Green “is soft and terrible” and that trading Kendrick Perkins for Green was “the worst decision.” Pretty interesting (and random, unless there...
