The Padres Ended A Shocking Streak Over The Weekend

It had been a long time, but on Sunday, the San Diego Padres finally put an end to an ominous trend.

This is one that had gone on for 434 days, and it had everything to do with the way the Padres have played against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium over that period of time.

Yes, it had actually been 434 whole days since the Padres had won a game at Chavez Ravine.

But on Sunday, they finally managed to end that streak, rallying from a late deficit to beat the Dodgers by a final of 4-2, preventing a four-game sweep.

A Long Time Coming

That’s a long stretch of days without a win at a certain place, but the Padres can finally breathe easy about that one.

Sure, the Dodgers may still have their number, especially in Los Angeles, but it’s always nice for a team to get the monkey off their back and win a game against a team that has been dominating them for a long time.

Luckily for the Padres, they have done just that and managed to gain a game on the Dodgers in the National League West division.

That division is still very much a two-team race, with the Padres currently sitting 4.5 games behind the Dodgers for first in the division.

With plenty of time left in the season, the Padres still have a chance to make that deficit up.

There’s still a full three months left in the season.

The Dodgers will obviously be the overwhelming favorites, but that’s not to say the Padres have no chance to get it done.

We’ll just have to wait and see what the rest of the season brings.
