Trade season has officially kicked off for the Arizona Coyotes. Surprisingly, it was not Jakob Chychrun as the first player sent out of the desert. Last night, the Vegas Golden Knights completed a trade with the Coyotes for Dysin Mayo.
On Wednesday, the Chicago Blackhawks traded for defenseman Nikita Zaitsev from the Ottawa Senators. In exchange, the Senators also sent a second-round pick in 2023, and a fourth-round pick in 2026 for future considerations.
Vegas immediately assigned Mayo to the AHL’s Henderson Silver Knights.
In corresponding roster moves ahead of Sunday’s game, the Coyotes recalled defensemen Victor Soderstrom and Dysin Mayo from the AHL.

The Arizona Coyotes announced on Friday that the team has signed rookie defenseman Dysin Mayo to a three-year contract. However, the terms of the contract were not disclosed, per club policy.
The 25-year-old was Arizona's 133rd overall selection back in 2014.
