The Green Bay Packers are still picking up the pieces from a disappointing result of their Week 4 Sunday Night Football meeting with the Dallas Cowboys on the road last Sunday. The 40-40 tie with Dallas did not leave a good taste in the mouth of either team, especially for the Packers, who were expected to bounce back with a victory in Arlington following an upset loss at the hands of the Cleveland Browns in Week 3.
Green Bay also played the Cowboys with a banged-up offensive line, which missed the services of right tackle Zach Tom, left guard Aaron Banks and offensive tackle Anthony Belton.
Even with those absences, quarterback Jordan Love flourished in leading the team’s passing attack and running back Josh Jacobs came away with two rushing scores.
On Tuesday, Green Bay announced that it has parted ways with rookie offensive lineman Brant Banks.
Via the Packers’ official website:
The Green Bay Packers have released T Brant Banks. General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transaction Tuesday.
Banks originally signed with the Packers as an undrafted free agent out of Rice on May 2, 2025, and has spent the regular season on Green Bay’s practice squad and active roster, appearing in two games.
There’s still a chance that Banks can reunite with Green Bay, but that remains to be seen for now.
Banks, who played college football with the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Rice Owls, went undrafted at the 2025 NFL Draft before getting signed by Green Bay to its practice squad. The Packers then signed him to the active roster ahead of the Cowboys game.
