Could longtime Redskins tight end Jordan Reed switch coasts and end up with the Rams? Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Jordan Reed could prove to be a bargain for the team that signs him this offseason if he can somehow manage to stay on the field in 2020, and the Los Angeles Rams are reportedly interested in the veteran tight end.

The Rams have reached out to Reed about possibly signing him, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports.

Reed was released by the Washington Redskins earlier this offseason. The former third-round pick has had seemingly endless potential since he was drafted in 2013, but he has never managed to get through a full season. He did, however, play in 13 games for Washington last year, catching 54 passes for 558 yards and two touchdowns.

The Rams have two solid tight ends on their roster in Gerald Everett and Tyler Higbee. The latter broke out down the stretch and likely has the starting job locked down heading into 2020, but Everett could be traded or cut this summer.

Reed shouldn’t cost much for whichever team signs him, and he will certainly have the potential to be a low-risk, high-reward addition.
