We posted this video last night, but felt that what Pierce said maybe deserved a little extra attention.
The Celtics laid a huge egg on national TV last night. For a team that's been boasting about how tight they are and tough to beat, they didn't look like a group that could get past the first round.
That didn't sit well with Paul Pierce.
"We don't talk on defense. We let constant dribble penetration from the guards w/out helping. I mean it's obvious who the stars on their team. I mean Deron Williams and Joe Johnson. We can't allow their stars to go out there and have huge nights... We have to do a better job communicating, getting the ball out of their hands, so they don't have nights like tonight."
It was the type of game that the team probably normally wins, but this isn't the group of years past. A lot of fans are kind of just writing off the end of the regular season, pointing to year's past where the team has just turned ...

How will Doc Rivers handle Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett the rest of the regular season?
Pierce is expected to play in Wednesday’s game against the Brooklyn Nets, though he said he’ll discuss with head coach Doc Rivers the possibility of resting at times over the final five games of the regular season.
“I’m going to leave that up to coach,” Pierce said. “Maybe I’ll...

The Boston Celtics will be in South Beach tonight as they're scheduled to go head-to-head with the defending champion, Miami Heat. This will be the third and final regular season game between the two rivals and with the series tied 1-1, bragging rights are on the line. Boston/Miami match-ups always make for instant classics but the Celtics will have to go into this battle two...

The annual “most popular jersey” report by the NBA is out. Once again, Rajon Rondo and Paul Pierce are the only two Celtics representing the team on the list. Here’s the top 15, sent out by the NBA PR department.

Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett are both nursing ankle injures.
The Celtics have struggled down the stretch of the regular season, and that’s only making life more difficult for them as the playoffs near.
On the one hand, the C’s have an aging roster, and that demands a certain amount of restraint with the postseason in mind. After all, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett are not the young men they once were, so Doc Rivers has already begun resting...

Boston Celtics center Kevin Garnett, disappointed in his last two games since his return from a foot injury that sidelined him for two weeks, says he will get better. Garnett had 11 points, eight rebounds and four assists in the Celtics’ 101-93 loss to the Brooklyn Nets Wednesday night.
MIAMI - The Boston Celtics traveled to Miami Friday to face the Heat in a crucial game. Unfortunately, the Celtics could not get the job done, and they lost the game 109-101. Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce sat out for Boston. Garnett because of a left ankle inflammation, and Pierce because of a sore left ankle. For the Heat, Shane Battier and Udonis Haslem were inactive. Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
“I think the reason people are going small is for the advantage, just trying to be quicker, trying to increase the pace,” Garnett said. “I think we’re doing the opposite. Obviously we’re still trying...
The Celtics-Heat rivalry has been strong ever since the self-proclaimed King James decided to famously take his talents to South Beach. Miami had the talent, but Boston had the experience—up until last year when the new big three, donning Miami red, captured the allusive NBA championship and Boston and Miami’s roles were immediately changed. Tonight will most definitely have...
