Blog: Garnett, Lee out tonight vs. Grizzles with sprained ankles bo.st/13mj8Nh #celtics — Boston Globe Celtics (@GlobeCeltics) March 23, 2013 Summing up the chaos here in Memphis...Kevin Garnett, Courtney Lee and Marc Gasol all out. Zach Randolph (alarm clock issue) won't start. — Sean Grande (@SeanGrandePBP) March 23, 2013 Garnett did not leave the Mavs game with any injury but was walking somewhat gingerly afterwards, according to reports. As would be expected, the Celtics are being extra careful with KG and he will be examined by Celtics doctors when the club returns to Boston on Sunday. Without KG, the Celtics will be forced to go extra small against one of the bigger teams in the league. They will catch a break, though, if Gasol can't go as Sean Grande reported. Jason Terry is expected to start at shooting guard and Jeff Green at forward. Brandon Bass is expected to start in the middle. I hope Doc gives White and Randolph some playing time. We desperately need their size. [Discuss on CG Forums!]

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. “An initial sprain is always the biggest zing right there when it happens,” Lee said after the Celtics’ 104-94 loss to Dallas. “But hopefully it’s just swelled up a little bit. “I’ll get some medicine...

Celtics Not Compassionate After Courtney Lee Injures Ankle

Celtics’ Doc Rivers and Jason Terry were less than compassionate Friday night when Courtney Lee was carried off the floor by teammates after spraining his ankle. Boston was in the midst of a comeback against Dallas, down just five with under two minutes remaining in the game when Lee went down with an ankle injury on a possession that left O.J. Mayo wide open for a three-pointer...

Gasol out as Grizzlies beat Celtics

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- There were a lot of Kevin Garnett jerseys inside FedExForum Saturday night. Kevin Garnett's was not one of them. Kevin Garnett Needs Help From Celtics Teammates to Defend Aggressive Pick-and-Roll Opponents

The Celtics’ scrambling was admirable, if not exactly effective, as they dashed around the court trying to match up with Mavericks players on defense. They were getting picked apart in a performance reminiscent of Tiago Splitter‘s breakout game at TD Garden earlier this season, but at least they were making a good show of it. Then Vince Carter hopped in the Way Back Machine —...

Celtics plummet to #14 in ESPN's NBA power rankings

Bob Cousy, #14 After spending the past two weeks in the #9 position, a four game losing streak has dropped the Celtics five spots, all the way down to #14 in Marc Stein's NBA power rankings for ESPN.  With the news just out that Kevin Garnett will likely miss some time (Doc said 4-5 games wouldn't surprise him), Stein probably wishes he had Boston even lower.
