The Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to evolve, and so do its projects. Recent reports suggest that the much-anticipated Young Avengers project has been rebranded as Champions.

The name change isn’t just cosmetic; it reflects a fundamental shift in how Marvel Studios is approaching this team of heroes. Additionally, insider reports also confirm that Hugh Jackman‘s Wolverine is here to stay.

The Young Avengers Project Will Be Developed As A Series

For years, the MCU has been subtly building the foundation for a Young Avengers team by introducing characters like Kate Bishop (Hawkeye), America Chavez (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness), and Kamala Khan (Ms. Marvel).

However, according to insider DanielRPK’s patreon, the “young” label has started to feel misaligned as some cast members age out of the term. Moreover, in the comics, the Champions roster includes diverse and globally recognized heroes such as Miles Morales, Sam Alexander (Nova), and a younger Cyclops from the X-Men

Moreover, the project will reportedly be developed as a Disney+ series rather than a feature film. Insiders speculate that the disappointing box office performance of ‘The Marvels’ prompted a reassessment. Team-up films featuring lesser-known or younger characters may no longer be viewed as box office hits.

Both Hugh Jackman And Ryan Reynolds Will Reportedly Be A Part Of ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’

In other Marvel news, it seems Hugh Jackman is far from done as Wolverine. Despite his seemingly final farewell in 2017’s ‘Logan’, the actor is making a full-throttle return after his MCU Debut and it doesn’t end with just ‘Deadpool and Wolverine‘.

Richtman also suggested Jackman’s Wolverine will play a significant role in upcoming MCU projects, including ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’. While Jackman’s return was initially thought to be a one-time cameo alongside Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool, these new reports suggest that Marvel is ready to keep him around for the long haul.

The insider also spoke about the rumors surrounding a ‘Deadpool And Wolverine‘ Sequel. He confirmed that discussions surrounding a sequel have already begun. Adding that both Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman will be a part of ‘Secret Wars‘.
