Ronald Acuna Jr., Shohei Ohtani lead MLB jersey sales

Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr. has the top-selling MLB player jersey at the season’s halfway point, followed by Los Angeles Angels two-way star Shohei Ohtani.

Acuña Jr. and Ohtani were also the two players to receive the most fan votes for this year’s All-Star Game, which will be played tonight at T-Mobile Park in Seattle. Both players are currently considered favorites to win MVP in their respective leagues, with Acuña Jr boasting a .408 on-base percentage with 21 home runs and 41 stolen bases.

Ohtani, who will be a free agent this winter and is expected to sign the biggest contract in MLB history, has hit an MLB-leading 32 homers with a 3.32 ERA and 132 strikeouts in 100 innings pitched.

MLB shared a list of the top-20 most popular Nike jerseys based on sales from MLBShop.com since Opening Day. The Braves were the only team with four players (Acuña Jr, Matt Olson, Austin Riley, and Ozzie Albies) to make the list, while the Houston Astros and Los Angeles Dodgers each had three players make the list.

Two of the players on the top-20 jersey list—Dodgers star Mookie Betts and Julio Rodriguez of the Seattle Mariners—participated in Monday’s Home Run Derby. Below are the top-20 ranked best-selling player jerseys at the 2023 All-Star break.
