Aaron Rodgers refuses to play for the Bears

Aaron Rodgers’ recent history with the Green Bay Packers suggests that he likely will not finish his career with the franchise.

The Denver Broncos came very close to acquiring Rodgers over the offseason – only to pull out at the last minute for a truly bizarre reason.

Beyond that, the San Francisco 49ers and Pittsburgh Steelers have also been mentioned as possible landing spots for Rodgers once he is done in Green Bay.

But there’s one team Rodgers definitely isn’t joining any time soon.

This week, ahead of the Packers’ looming showdown with the Chicago Bears, Rodgers confirmed that he absolutely does not see himself ever suiting up for his heated NFC North rivals.

“No,” he replied. “No. It’s just not gonna happen.”

That was about as cut-and-dry of a “no” as you’ll ever hear.

As it stands, Rodgers is 20-5 against the Bears throughout his storied NFL career. Clearly he has no intentions of turning from their villain to their hero. And considering how petty his own teammates say he is, the news shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.

This weekend’s battle between Rodgers and the Bears promises to be an interesting one. For obvious reasons, Green Bay heads into it as a five-point favorite. Despite that, though – rookie Justin Fields doesn’t seem rattled. In fact, he just sent a pretty stern message to the Packers a few days ago.

Rodgers isn’t joining the Bears any time soon. But hopefully after this season he’ll ultimately go somewhere where he won’t also beat up on them multiple times over the course of a year.
