Damon Arnette Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Damon Arnette was arrested on Friday just days after being signed by the Kansas City Chiefs, and it would not be a surprise if the former first-round pick has played his last snap in the NFL.

Arnette was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, carrying or concealing a gun without a permit, and marijuana possession following an alleged incident in Las Vegas. A witness claims to have seen the cornerback pointing a gun at a valet.

TMZ on Thursday shared more details from the police report. Las Vegas Metro Police say they received a call about a man allegedly pulling a gun on a valet at the Park MGM resort. The employee said he was told to retrieve a black Mercedes, but Arnette said he had lost the ticket after the car was delivered. Arnette allegedly became furious and told the valet to “give me my motherf-----g keys!” The employee said he heard the sound of a gun being cocked and looked up to see Arnette pointing a gun at him.

Arnette was given the keys and left, and police pulled him over after locating him. The 25-year-old was carrying one gun and had another next to where he was seated. Police say the incident was captured on surveillance footage.

Arnette, the 19th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, began the season with the Las Vegas Raiders. He was released in November after broadcasting a threatening video on social media. Reports at the time indicated Arnette had long exhibited a pattern of troubling behavior.

The Chiefs signed Arnette last month despite his numerous issues, but they released him following the arrest.
