'Madden' wouldn't approve DeAndre Hopkins-David Johnson trade
The trade of DeAndre Hopkins to the Cardinals was widely viewed as a one-sided deal, and EA Sports' "Madden" video game agreed, refusing to process the move when prompted. Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

The Houston Texans sent superstar receiver DeAndre Hopkins packing in a trade to the Arizona Cardinals Monday in a move that was widely panned.

The trade consisted of the Texans sending Hopkins and a fourth-round pick to Arizona in exchange for David Johnson, along with a second-round pick and a fourth-round pick.

The trade certainly seemed one-sided in favor of the Cardinals, so it’s hardly surprising that EA Sports’ “Madden” refused the deal when Will Brinson of CBS Sports tried to pull it off in the virtual realm.

It’s hard to know what the Texans were thinking here.

As for the Cardinals, this trade appears to have worked out beautifully and sets up the team’s burgeoning offense, and quarterback Kyler Murray, for a huge leap in 2020.
