The Miami Dolphins may have completely shaken up their roster, but they have made an intriguing decision. The team has low expectations with the roster they have in the first year of general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan, as he has blown up the roster. Let’s take a closer look at the team’s newest addition and what it means for them going forward.
Mike Garafolo of NFL Network is reporting that the Miami Dolphins have agreed to a contract with free agent punter Bradley Pinion. Pinion is a veteran punter and spent the previous four seasons with the Atlanta Falcons. He is a former Super Bowl champion with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as well. Pinion punted 64 times last season for 2,889 yards (45.1 yards per punt) and had 34 punts land inside the 20-yard line.
Pinion is also a kickoff specialist, so he will be able to fill multiple roles for the Miami Dolphins in 2026. He has an incredible leg that is able to flip the field, while also being an incredible person off the field, being named as a Walter Payton Man of the Year finalist two times as well. In a season where the Miami Dolphins are not expected to put a competitive product on the field, having a veteran like Pinion to help the special teams is critical.
The details for his contract have not been disclosed, but this should not be an issue for the team. The front office has been very active during the new league year in making moves, but also have a lot of dead cap. It will be intriguing to see how Pinion looks with the Dolphins for the 2026 season.
