The San Francisco 49ers have announced that legendary tight end Brent Jones will become the 33rd inductee into the Edward J. DeBartolo Sr. Hall of Fame. Known for his consistency, leadership, and contributions to three Super Bowl victories, Jones is widely regarded as one of the franchise’s most dependable players.

Jones’ journey with San Francisco began in 1987 after being drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers and subsequently released. He became a key figure in Bill Walsh’s West Coast offense, thriving as a reliable target for Hall of Fame quarterbacks Joe Montana and Steve Young.

Over his 11-year career, Jones recorded 497 receptions for 5,195 yards and 33 touchdowns, earning four consecutive Pro Bowl selections from 1992 to 1995. A member of the College Football Hall of Fame, Jones played an instrumental role in the team’s postseason success, appearing in 21 playoff games.

His contributions were pivotal in victories such as Super Bowl XXIII against the Cincinnati Bengals and Super Bowl XXIV over the Denver Broncos. Beyond his on-field accomplishments, Jones was celebrated for his work ethic, leadership, and impact in the locker room.
