The Seattle Mariners and Los Angeles Angels had themselves a little scuffle on Sunday afternoon after Jesse Winker was drilled by a 91-mph fastball.

Winker charged towards the Angels dugout, got ejected, and flipped the double bird to the crowd.

Raisel Iglesias also threw an entire bucket full of sunflower seeds towards the Mariners dugout.

But it seems that a little dust up was expected by many around the scene.

In fact, Mariners insider Jen Mueller says she knew something was going to happen the second she walked into Angel Stadium on Sunday, claiming that she could hear stadium personnel making predictions that something could take place.

Incoming Brawl

Perhaps Mueller is a visionary with the way she predicted what was going to happen.

But with some close pitches the previous night, it’s hard not to expect something to happen the next day.

Think back to when the New York Mets and St. Louis Cardinals had their little scuffle back in April.

Both teams hit their fair share of batters and tensions were boiling the night before.

Everybody knew something was coming in the series finale.

In this case though, it’s two division rivals.

These are two teams that had big expectations entering the 2022 season but have both underperformed thus far.

Here we have two teams who are down on their luck and not playing good baseball.

Tensions are bound to surface when two teams are competing for the same thing, even if they both are not playing well.

A rivalry is a rivalry and tensions will boil over at times, even with the two teams are not playing up to their potential.

We’ll see if any suspensions follow.
