The Arizona Cardinals need to address the right tackle position this offseason because Jonah Williams and Kelvin Beachum remain unsigned through the first month of free agency, while Williams is recovering from shoulder surgery. The Cardinals reunited with Elijah Wilkinson after spending the past two seasons apart, and signed Oli Udoh as a placeholder and competition. Wilkinson started every game at right tackle for the Atlanta Falcons, while Udoh was the swing tackle for the Tennessee Titans, where he started three games.

The Cardinals could select an offensive tackle with the 34th pick if they drafted an EDGE rusher third overall.

Arizona Cardinals host a possible replacement for Jonah Williams

According to Greg Auman of FOX Sports, former JUCO and Arizona State standout right tackle Max Iheanachor recently completed a pre-draft visit with the Cardinals. Following the conclusion of his redshirt senior season, he has soared on draft boards after an incredible Senior Bowl and NFL Scouting Combine performance. Many have mocked Iheanachor as a late first- to early second-round pick.

Here’s a quick review of his CFB career

Max Iheanachor immigrated from Nigeria to Los Angeles at age 13 and played soccer and basketball growing up. He did not begin playing football until after graduating high school, when he joined East Los Angeles College in 2021 as a tight end. Iheanachor spent 2021 bulking up and eventually converted to offensive tackle in 2022. He played both left and right tackle and was considered a Top 30 JUCO recruit in 2023.

Max Iheanachor transferred to Arizona State for the 2023 season. Due to injuries, he was forced into a starting role and started five of six games at right tackle, where he did not allow a sack on 15 pressures. Iheanachor became the full-time starter at right tackle in 2024 and helped Cam Skattebo place fifth in the Heisman, while allowing 21 pressures and three sacks across 14 starts. He enjoyed a breakout 2025 season, once again at right tackle, where he did not allow a sack on 14 pressures and earned Second-Team All-Big 12 honors across 12 starts.

Here’s Lance Zierlein’s scouting report

“An ascending, traits-heavy tackle prospect, Iheanachor is a former high school hooper and late-comer to football. He has good length and excellent lean mass. His hands and footwork need refinement, but his range and play strength should translate to any run scheme.

“There is work to do with pass-protection technique, but strong performances against Texas Tech’s rush duo last season and at the Senior Bowl suggest Iheanachor might be more game-ready than I previously anticipated. In a year light on high-end tackles, Iheanachor’s measurables, athleticism and upside could push him up the board.”

He projects as a plus starter.
