Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater have been in the spotlight lately because of their new relationship. It garnered more attention after Ariana’s divorce from her previous marriage to Dalton Gomez, which ended in 2021. While both Ethan and Ariana share their moments on social media, the relationship has always been private.
Despite that, Grande’s boyfriend has recently spoken up about his relationship and the heavy criticism it received from people, stating that it was a “really difficult” phase for him as his separation from his wife also happened at the same time. Here’s what Ethan thinks about the whole situation.
Ethan Slater admitted that going public with his romance with singer Ariana Grande was difficult for him. Moreover, both of them were fresh out of two different relationships making the spotlight more different for them.
During his recent interview with GQ, Ethan said, “I think there was something that was really difficult about things in your private life being commented on and looked at by the public.”
He continued, “There were a lot of big changes in private lives that were really happening, so it’s really hard to see people who don’t know anything about what’s happening commenting on it and speculating, and then getting things wrong about the people you love. So just to address that part of it, that feels really hard.”
Ariana Grande was accused and also termed as a homewrecker after the news of her relationship with Ethan Slater became public. However, Ethan is focused and hopeful about the situation for his two-year-old son, Jay.
Further talking about the backlash in the interview, Slater said, “I’ve got an amazing support system of family and friends who I talk to and confide in. I am really focused on the real people in my life, who those things affect, and doing right by every real person and not the Twitter people who comment on it.”
For Grande’s part, she never directly addressed the issue but showed her unbothered attitude through her music titled ‘Yes, And?‘ where the lyrics were similar to her situation.
