Marvel Wants All Netflix-Era Characters To Reprise Their Roles And Isn’t Looking To Recast

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is set to expand its horizons with the return of beloved characters from Netflix’s Marvel shows. The Marvel Netflix era included shows like ‘Daredevil,’ Luke Cage’, ‘Iron Fist’, ‘The Punisher‘, andJessica Jones’ among others. 

Till date, these shows remain iconic because of the actors and their realistic tone. Moreover, with ‘Daredevil: Born Again‘ reaching its release date, there’s a lot of anticipation. However, according to insider reports, Marvel is not looking to recast these characters. 

‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Will Hint At Past Interactions With Other Marvel Netflix Era Characters

Insider reports by Alex Perez via TheCosimicCircus suggest that Marvel Studios is aiming to bring back the original actors of the Netflix series. They are already bringing back the original ‘Daredevil’ cast with Charlie Cox, Jon Bernthal, and Vincent D’Onforio for ‘Daredevil: Born Again‘.

So, fans can expect to see Mike Colter as Luke Cage and Finn Jones as Iron Fist in future projects. These characters were previously part of the Netflix Marvel universe. Their potential return to the MCU has generated significant excitement among fans.

They are eager to see how these characters will interact with the larger Marvel universe. Moreover, ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ is expected to reference the characters’ past interactions and relationships. This could involve subtle nods to their shared history or more explicit references to their previous adventures. 

Marvel TV Head Brad Winderbaum Confirms Jon Bernthal’s Punisher Is Set For Promising Future Beyond ‘Daredevil: Born Again

Jon Bernthal’s return as The Punisher in ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ was enough to spark significant anticipation among Marvel fans. Since his debut as Frank Castle in Netflix’s ‘The Punisher’, Bernthal’s portrayal has been widely praised for its intensity and depth. 

Moreover, with the antihero slated to reappear in the upcoming Disney+ series, audiences are eager to see how his story will evolve within the MCU. While at the Phase Hero podcast, Brad Winderbaum, Marvel Studios’ Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation, offered a promising update. 

When asked about the future of The Punisher after ‘Daredevil: Born Again’, Winderbaum confirmed that Marvel has plans for the character beyond the show. “100%. We feel the same way, he’s so great in that role!” Winderbaum said. “I can’t wait for you to see him on screen in this series and there’s absolutely a future for him in the MCU afterwards.”
