Jets’ Rodgers doesn’t hold back on Adams

The relationship between Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams has always been a good one dating back to their careers with the Green Bay Packers.

During the offseason before being traded to the New York Jets, Rodgers was very vocal about his interest in a reunion with Adams. That didn’t happen, but the love is still there between the two.

Adams has long been viewed as one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. Over the last year or two, many have placed Minnesota Vikings star Justin Jefferson ahead of him. That has not been the case for Rodgers.

In a recent comment shared by The Spun, Rodgers once again made the bold statement that Adams is the best wide receiver in the NFL. He even stated that it isn’t even close.

"And it’s not necessarily that close,” Rodgers said about ranking receivers. “There’s a couple of guys in that stratosphere but (Adams is) the best.”

While it seems like a long shot that the two will ever team up again, there has been some speculation that Adams could become available via trade. If that does happen, you can bet that Rodgers would push the Jets to make a play for him.

We have previously covered a story where the Jets were floated as a potential trade suitor for Davante Adams.

Aaron Rodgers has to be excited about the weapons he already has on the roster. Garrett Wilson is one of the top up-and-coming wide receivers in the game.

He also has Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb with him again, along with Mecole Hardman and Corey Davis. The Jets have done a good job of getting him weapons.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for both Rodgers and Adams. Teaming up in the future may not happen, but the connection they had in Green Bay was one of the best that the NFL has seen in recent history.
